How to Use the Ruler

Need to measure specific elements on a webpage? With the Ruler tool in BarnumPT, you can quickly find the exact width, height, and X and Y coordinates of any section on the page. 

 


 

Steps to Use the Ruler

  1. Open the BarnumPT Extension
    Click the Hat icon in your browser toolbar to open the BarnumPT popup.

  2. Select the Ruler Tool
    Inside the popup, click on the Ruler option. The tool will open on the active tab you’re currently viewing.

 


 

Drawing and Adjusting the Ruler

  1. Draw the Ruler on the Page
    Click and drag to draw the ruler across the section of the webpage you want to measure.

  2. Move or Resize the Ruler
    Once placed, you can:

    • Click and drag the ruler to move it around the page.
    • Adjust the sides of the ruler to change its width and height.
  3. View Measurements
    The Width, Height, and X + Y coordinates of the ruler are displayed in the top-right corner, giving you precise measurements.

 


 

Closing the Ruler

You can close the ruler by pressing the Escape key at any time.
