3 min. readlast update: 11.05.2024

Keeping your data consistent across multiple browsers is a key feature of BarnumPT, ensuring you have access to your latest configurations and assets, no matter where you’re working. With Data Sync, you can easily manage your data across installations.

While certain features like image and screenshot syncing are not yet available during the beta, we appreciate your patience and look forward to providing full functionality soon.

How to Sync Data Across Browsers

Here’s how you can sync your data across multiple browsers using BarnumPT:

  1. Ensure You’re a Backstage Pass Member
Data Sync is available to all Backstage Pass members, so make sure you have access before proceeding.

  2. Open the BarnumPT Web Browser Extension
Go to the BarnumPT web browser extension and locate the Data Sync button in the top right corner of the interface.

  3. Check Your Current Installation
Click the Check Data button to see if your current browser installation is up to date with your synced data.

  4. Push Your Data
If your data is outdated or not yet synced, click the Push button to update your database with the most recent data from your current browser.

Sync Data on Another Browser Installation

To ensure your data stays consistent across installations:

  1. Open the Second Installation
Open BarnumPT on the second browser where you want to sync the data.

  2. Repeat the Data Sync Process
Repeat the same steps: click the Checker button to ensure the installation is up to date, and then push or pull data to keep it synced with your database.

Beta Limitations

During the beta, image, and screenshot syncing is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the delay and will notify you once this feature is fully functional. Please note that Data Sync may undergo changes during the beta testing period without prior notice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this available for free members?
A: No, it is for Backstage Pass members only.

Q: Why is it a manual process?
A: Over time the amount of images, copied pages, etc can add up to a large amount of data and we have made it "opt-in" in order to sync the data to save on processing power.

Q: How long does it take?
A: When you click Sync, your local data will be sent to our hosting servers, and depending on the amount it may take a few minutes to upload and to download on separate browser installations.
